College of education originally named Science Education School was established on Saturday 30th June 2007 according to Decision Number 209 of Ministry of Education of Kurdistan Regional Government.
The School of Science Education School, firstly, had two departments which were physics and mathematics in 2007. In 2014, two new departments established namely department of chemistry and biology. Hence, the school has four departments. In academic year 2007-2008 students started their study and until now five graduation ceremonies has taken place in the school.
The aim of our school is to provide professional teacher to the secondary schools. Students will be studying practical and theoretical aspects of their chosen subject, as well as studying teaching methods, psychology and as part of their final year students will practice teaching in secondary schools.
