College of Fine Arts formed since 1998/1999 and consists of departments of Plastic Arts and Music. At the Plastic Arts department, there
are branches of Painting, Sculpture and Ceramics, which studies BA, MA and PhD. At the Music department there are branches of Performance and Composition , Ethnomusicology as well as studies for Bachelor’s degree qualification. The school seeks to qualify academic cadres in the field of fine arts, in addition to spreading awareness of art in Kurdistan in particular and the region in general.
Vision
The College of Fine Arts at the University of Sulaimani is committed to teaching students through fine art, music, and filmmaking using contemporary scientific methods in order to bring Kurdish art, culture, and heritage into contemporary life. The college aspires to function as an active community of learners and educators committed to innovation across all visual arts and design disciplines. Through its educational programmed, the organization seeks to increase public awareness of the local cultural heritage.

The College of Fine Arts prepares students for the creation, practice, study, criticism, and teaching of the arts in a context that emphasizes cultural diversity, community engagement, and technical innovation. We affirm our continued commitment to the realization of student potential as the central focus of our teaching as well as preparing graduates to lead the labor market in their fields of expertise as pioneers and producers.
