Michel’s (Escaping from a Tyranny Society) is to cut the Gordian knot

      On 11^th of April 2016 Sulaimani University’s new campus, in İsmail Beşikçi’s hall, hosted an outstanding seminar of the French renowned sociologist Michel Wieviorka. The seminar was administered by Dr. Adil Baxawan (PhD) and attended by diverse academics and men of letters such as Dr. Salahaddin Sa’eed (Prof.), the president of University of Sulaimani, and manifold guests and students.

   During the seminar, Michel explicitly discussed the roots and the genesis of violence within society, he also argued multiple pivotal approaches to address and decrease violence, during which he covered some meticulous illustrations throughout history of how societies encountered violence and elucidated adopting various methods of how they transcended it.  Within last part of the seminar, the attendants overtly expressed their viewpoints on the topic.
