A panel discussion on hemorrhagic fever was held at University of Sulaimani
Tuesday, July 11, 2023, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Kosar Mohammed, President of University of Sulaimani, in the presence of a significant number of teachers, veterinarians, and representatives of the World Health Organization in Sulaymaniyah, held a panel on hemorrhagic fever in the conference hall of University of Sulaimani.
The panel began with a moment of silence for the souls of the martyrs. Then Prof. Dr. Mohammad Omer briefly discussed the history of the emergence and spread of hemorrhagic fever in Iraq and the region. Later, Professor Dr. Faraidoon Abdulstar, a lecturer in the College of Veterinary Medicine at University of Sulaimani, discussed the diseases that are common between humans and animals, “Zoonotic diseases”, and hemorrhagic diseases is one of those dangerous diseases that transmit from animals to humans. Also, the symptoms of the disease in animals scientifically are described. In another part of the panel, Professor Dr. Bahzad Mohammed, a lecturer in the College of Veterinary Medicine of University of Sulaimani, talked about the insects that cause the transmission of diseases from animals to humans, as well as the growth and causes of their increase and how to prevent them.
Then the CDC director talked about the spread rate and the zoning rate with the highest rate of the disease has been recorded and the necessary tests for any suspect to be sure whether it is infected or not.
