Application for Msc Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design (IUSD) is now open

 Application for MSc Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design (IUSD) is Now Open to graduates and young professionals from the fields of architecture, geography, sociology, environmental management, civil engineering, political science or economics.

 
Arabic and Islamic studies with relevant professional experience will also be considered but should provide proof of relevant professional experience in fields related to architecture, urban and development planning or ecological design.
 
IUSD is a Double-degree master by University of Stuttgart and Ain Shams University Cairo.
 
Application period for 2015 opens on 15th December 2014 and closes on 15th February 2015

The Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design trains and prepares a new generation of
urban practitioners to face the tremendous environmental, cultural, socio-economic and
governance challenges resulting from the dynamic urban transformation around the globe.
 
The Masters program strongly encourages applications from young professionals
working in public institutions, private sector, civil society initiatives or NGOs all over the
world who are interested in IUSD-related topics and who have a high level of interest in
knowledge transfer and achieving a social benefit. We welcome applicants from 
many different backgrounds and countries.
 
Students will study their first year at Stuttgart University and their second year at Ain Shams
University in Cairo.
 
The program focuses on hands-on skills and interdisciplinary teamwork
on site-specific projects in cooperation with local communities and with different stakeholders,
organizations and institutions, locally and internationally.
 
IUSD students acquire reflective and practical skills to develop integrated and transdisciplinary solutions for
planning, managing and designing landscapes, cities and buildings.
 
The Masters program is part of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) «Emerging
Country Programme» and funded with resources from the German Federal Ministry for
Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Ministry of Education
and Research (BMBF) and the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE).
 
A limited number of DAAD scholarships including travel grants and language courses are
available for students from Egypt, Middle East & North Africa and Germany.
