The University President visited the College of Natural Sciences of Chwarta
On August 2nd, 2023, Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed the President of University of Sulaimani, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Kawa Jamal, Vice President for Administration and Financial Affairs, and his delegation visited the College of Natural Sciences of Chwarta to increase awareness of the issues and deficiencies within the College of Natural Sciences. They had a meeting with the dean and administrative units of the college. In his meeting with the dean, and the heads of the administrative units of the College of Natural Sciences, the President of the University attentively heard their concerns, requests, and recommendations, and assured them that he would address them. Meanwhile, the College of Natural Sciences in Chawarta had its dean, Dr Emad, present a list of demands and suggestions to the president. These included the need for expanded laboratory facilities, as well as the construction of an internal dormitory for male and female students in close proximity to the college building.
The college dean also acknowledged that this year, every school in the area has paid a visit to their institution where they discussed the significance and potential of the college in serving the region and Kurdistan.
He mentioned that the college had previously offered environmental training to employees of other government ministries via courses and workshops. Additionally, he stated that they aim to expand their outreach and engage with society through the college. To achieve this, he provided multiple suggestions to the delegation of the university presidency.
The president of the University of Sulaimani emphasized the significance of the College of Natural Sciences. He highlighted that the graduates from this college will be able to fulfil the demands of the job market in the region. He asserted to offer hisconstant support and assistance towards their work and, in line with the university’s plans, strive to expand and enhance the college’s growth.
The university president and his delegation’s visit is part of the reform efforts initiated by the president through a committee. The aim is to address the problems and shortcomings in all colleges and departments; therefore, they solve the problems of all colleges and university departments during the students’summer holiday in preparation for the new academic year as part of their ongoing efforts to resolve all issues.
