In the presence of Professor Dr. Kosar Mohammed, The president of the University of Sulaimani, his assistants, teachers and students, the Department of Graphic Design in the College of Fine Arts of University of Sulaimani has beenopened as a new and important department.

Prof. Dr. Kawa Jamal, the vice president for administrative and financial affairs said that this year the Department of Graphic Design will admit students directly with forms, then interviewing the applicants, which will be based on the desire and a good command of English language as  a requirement for the admission. The Department of Graphic Design will be taught in English, which will be opened in collaboration with the German Goethe Institute at University of Sulaimani.

Then a panel discussion was held on the importance of opening the department, which was conducted by Mr. TwanaSaeed, Director of IT and Information Technology of University of Sulaimani, and each of (Shirwan Ali Hamakhan– a professor at Graphic Design Department of the University of Sulaimani and Zanko Ahmad - Representative of 964 Media Agency) participated and emphasized in detail the importance of opening the department and its impact on the Job market and benefits for the graduates of the department.

After the Panel, an Exhibition was opened for the works of the students who participated in a Graphic Design course in the University of Sulaimani from several countries, which was organized with the assistance of the German DAADOrganization.

At the same time, the President of University of Sulaimaniexpressed his full support for the department, in order to become an important and active department and preparestudents for the society and the job market of the Kurdistan Region.

This year, Sulaimani University opened two important and modern departments, namely (Computer Engineering, and Graphic Design), which will play a major role in training advanced cadres for the job market.
