Sulaimani Symphony Orchestra, in Collaboration with the German Goethe Institute, Hosted a Classical Music Concert

The Sulaimani Symphony Orchestra’s string section, in partnership with the GermanGoethe Institute, hosted a classical music concert under the skilled direction of Dr. Abdullah Jamal Sagrma, Hanz Rotman, and Lorenzo Ghirlanda at the Congress Halls of University of Sulaimani.
The Sulaimani Symphony Orchestra is a dynamic ensemble comprised of educators, students, and graduates from the Department of Music at the College of Fine Arts, Sulaimani University. Dr. Abdullah Jamal Sagrma leads this talented orchestra with exceptional skill and dedication.
Dr. Abdullah, the orchestra’s conductor, expressed his creative approach on the university’s website, saying, “I consistently draw inspiration from original Kurdish folk songs, rhythms, and themes as the cornerstone of my compositions, transforming them into contemporary academic music that resonates with the language of modern music.”
He added, “This event was immensely valuable for both students and teachers, and we are committed to continuing to organize such artistic endeavors.”
Dr. Abdullah Jamal Sagrma, with a distinguished PhD in composition from the UK, currently serves as the Head of the Department of Music at the College of Fine Arts, University of Sulaimani.
