Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali, President of the University of Sulaimani, visited the reconstruction and revival project of the Khurmal Mosque and School, a site known for its historical significance and uniqueness in Kurdistan. Accompanied by Asst. Prof.Dr. Zana Mahmood, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Shirwan Hama Saleh, Vice President for Student Affairs, Dr. Kosar received a detailed briefing from the supervisory staff and project representatives on the progress and various stages of the work.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Kosar commended the project’s progress, emphasizing its historical and archaeological importance. He also expressed his appreciation for the collaborative efforts between government institutions, the private sector, and dedicated individuals involved in the project.
The supervisory team and project implementers, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the University of Sulaimani for its crucial support during the initial design phase and for forming an advisory committee of experts in architecture, archaeology, and ancient archives.
