On December 24, 2024, the President of the University of Sulaimani, Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali, accompanied by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zana Mahmood Hassan, conducted an official visit to the Central Library and Printing House of the University of Sulaimani. They were warmly received by Prof. Dr. Trifa Omar Ahmad, Director of the Central Library and Printing House, along with several staff members of the center.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali congratulated Prof. Dr. Trifa Omar Ahmad and emphasized the pivotal role of the library in academic and societal development. Highlighting its contributions, he remarked: “Beyond the dissemination of knowledge and preservation of cultural heritage, libraries are integral to fostering innovation, serving as hubs of learning and research, and facilitating the exchange of ideas. These functions collectively advance both the university and society. From this perspective, the library can rightly be described as the heart of the university.” In response, Prof. Dr. Trifa Omar Ahmad expressed her gratitude and noted: “During the visit, the President emphasized the need to allocate adequate space and resources for the new section of the Central Library, initially scheduled to open in 2023 under the President’s guidance.”
She further elaborated: “We also presented various initiatives aimed at enhancing the operations of both the University Library and Printing House. These entities hold significant importance in advancing the academic, scientific, and social objectives of the university and the broader community. The strong support expressed by the President and the Vice President is invaluable to the realization of these projects.”
