President of the University of Sulaimani Visits Endowment Directorate and Library to Explore Collaborative Opportunities

On Monday, Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali, President of the University of Sulaimani, was joined by Asst. Prof. Dr. Shirwan Hamasalih, Vice President for Student Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ahmed, Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Trifa Omer, Director of the Central Library and University Printing House, for an official visit to the Endowment Library, the General Directorate of Endowments, and the Sulaimani Endowment Directorate. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the directors of each institution.
The visit began at the Sulaimani Endowment Library, where they were received by Ms. Kawsar Mohammed, the library’s director. Discussions focused on exploring the potential for collaboration, particularly in the form of a memorandum of understanding. The library’s rich collection of unique and historical manuscripts was highlighted, with both parties agreeing to formalize their partnership in the near future. This agreement will allow University of Sulaimani experts to provide training for library staff and facilitate joint events such as meetings and symposiums.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Kosar Mohammed Ali requested the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences to prepare a proposal for the creation of a new department titled “Library and Manuscripts Administration.”
The delegation then visited the General Directorate of Endowments in Sulaimani, where they were welcomed by Hawzhin Rauf. Conversations focused on opportunities for cooperation, with Prof. Dr. Kosar emphasizing the university’s wealth of expertise and its readiness to assist external organizations through training and collaborative projects.
Following this, the delegation visited the Sulaimani Endowment Directorate, where they were greeted by Mullah Abbas, the Director. The discussions here also centered on fostering mutual support and strengthening ties between the university and the directorate.
Finally, the delegation met with the President and Vice President of Kurdistan’s Scientists Union in Sulaimani, reinforcing the university’s commitment to community engagement. The University of Sulaimani continues to strengthen its relationships with both public and private institutions, leveraging the knowledge and expertise of its faculty and professionals to support initiatives beyond the academic realm.
