Hungarian Journalist / Politician Mr. Gyorgy Kakuk Visit University of Sulaimani
[email protected]Mr. Gyorgy Kakuk, Hungarian journalist/politician, member of Presidency of the Democratic Coalition Party & Co-chair of Euro-Atlantic Working Group of DC visited University of Sulaimani on Thursday 11 February 2016 and met with University President and other University officials.
Mr. Gyorgy Kakuk was received at University of Sulaimani by Professor Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali (President), Assist. Prof. Dr. Khasraw Abdulla Rashid (Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Post Graduate Studies), Assist. Prof. Dr. Ridha H. Hussein (Vice President for Administration and Finance), Dr. Rebeen Abubakir Omer (Dean of Faculty of Law and Politics) and Dr Karzan G. Khidhir (Director of International Academic Relations).
During the meeting Mr. Gyorgy Kakuk and University of Sulaimani President discussed the latest developments in the region and cooperation in future in terms of holding seminars for students of department of political science and attending international conference at University of Sulaimani.

Biography of Mr. Kakuk:
Mr. Kakuk born in 1964, a native of eastern Hungary, Debrecen. He went to the Law School of the Szeged University and graduated in 1988. After that he worked as a human rights lawyer for a organization which was established by well known dissidents.
As a result of this a activity he participated in the National Roundtable’s Penal Law Subcommittee.
After the first democratic elections in 1990 Mr. Kakuk chose journalism over politics and he worked as news reporter at the National Television, then became the foreign news editor of the National Radio.
From 1997 through 1999 he was the chief international news editor of the first private television station, the TV2.
