University of Sulaimani signs Collaboration protocol with Eastern Mediterranean University of Cyprus
A delegation from University of Sulaimani headed by President Prof. Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali visited Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) on April 4th 2015 to get familiar with EMU infrastructural facilities, faculties and departments as a number of Kurdish students are currently studying in EMU.
University of Sulaimani delegation visited Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, Education, and laboratories of photochemistry & microbiology, where they were warmly welcomed by the deans and head of departments and discussed possible collaboration between the relevant departments of both universities.
During the visit, the University of Sulaimani delegation: Prof. Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali (President) and Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Qader Aziz (Dean of Faculty of Science and Science Education) met with EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, Vice Rector for Financial Affairs Prof. Dr. Salih Katırcıoğlu and Coordinator for Institutional Development and International Academic Relations Office Cahit Ezel.
During the meeting EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and University of Sulaimani President Prof. Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali signed a collaboration protocol on prospective joint academic projects.
Prof. Dr. Osam provided detailed information about EMU to the visiting officials of University of Sulaimani and stated that with a history of 36 years, EMU is the most prominent university in Cyprus. Stressing EMU’s gradual development and enlargement year by year, Prof. Dr. Osam also provided information about student and faculty profile, campus and infrastructural facilities, faculties and departments.
At the end of the meeting, President of University of Sulaimani Prof. Dr. Salahalddin Saeed Ali expressed his pleasure in collaborating with Eastern Mediterranean University and thanked Prof. Dr. Osam for his hospitality; and presented University of Sulaimani logo present to EMU officials and the Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, presented lefkara lace handicrafts to University of Sulaimani President Prof. Dr. Salahalddin.
